February Adoration: Where is the World Headed?

This is the question we ask ourselves when faced with a world ravaged by war, injustice, famine, loss of values... It is a profoundly human question, for it concerns our lives and the destiny of humanity. Faced with such an uncertain future, it is not surprising that many fall into pessimism and defeatism.

Believers know that God is with them. And that faith sustains them in hope and encourages them to work for a more humane world. They are certain that a day will come when God himself "will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death or mourning, nor crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away" (Rev 21:4).

- O God, come to my assistance.

- Lord, make haste to help me.

- Glory be to the Father...

- As it was in the beginning...

A new light will come upon the earth,

the light of justice and truth.

The liberator of nations will come;

freedom will come!

We wait in the shadows

for the radiant light.

Our steps in the night

seek the truth,

but at last a new day is dawning:

Freedom will come!

Silence for adoration.

Psalm.

If Jesus were not on our horizon, history would have a different meaning.

Because of you, Lord, the world maintains hope and poor people are blessed.

If you were not on our horizon, wars, oppression, and injustice would double the hatred in people's hearts, and blood would flood the earth even more.

Knowing that He is with us gives us the courage to bless the good and reject evil.

His presence is fresh air in the morning, lucidity and sanity at the crossroads.

The Lord of life has ignited the souls of His sons and daughters, and the spirit of God moves in their hearts?

Silence for meditation.

Reading.

"When I'm sad, I feel terrible. I'm often sad because of something harmful that someone has done to me. I make a great effort to shake off my sadness; I think about the people who love me, about children in the Third World, or I tell myself jokes... and if that doesn't work, I pray and it goes away." (Gloria Fuertes)

Silence for reflection.

How do you deal with pessimism and sadness in the face of such a turbulent and disoriented world?

Petitions.

·       For the Church, that it may fulfill its mission to proclaim and establish the Kingdom of God among all peoples...

·       For the laity, that they may work for the Kingdom of God by managing temporal affairs and ordering them according to God’s will…

·       For peoples suffering from war or underdevelopment...

·       For international organizations responsible for promoting and fostering a more just and peaceful global society...

Our Father.

Prayer.

Hear, Lord, our prayers and make us co-workers in your work in the world for a better future we ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
