Adoration for January: The Epiphany

ree

In his face and in his works, Jesus reveals God's love for humanity. On Epiphany, we celebrate God's entry into our humanity and the universality of his Promise: all people are called to faith.

The manifestation is directed to the world by a star. The symbol is precise, a light that shines powerfully in the sky, but shines joyfully in the heart. The star would be useless if the heart were not burning. The star is the image of this fire of Jesus, the fire of his passionate and devoted love, which shines with all its strength on the cross, where he dies of love for the salvation of all.

- O God, come to my aid.

- Lord, make haste to help me.

- Glory be to the Father...

- As it was in the beginning...

Lord, you who shine in the darkness,

give us your light!

On this night I follow in your footsteps,

even though I cannot clearly see your light.

Guide us through this life,

through this life to your light.

Soon the new day will come,

the dawn of eternal light.

Peace and hope are born in us,

together we will see the endless light.

Lord, you who shine in the darkness,

give us your light!

Silence for adoration.

Psalm.

The Lord of the Beatitudes

spreads light, dispels darkness,

and calms the spirit.

He is water and nourishment

along the way.

He is the cornerstone

for the future.

God sends Jesus,

and men and women

—the apples of His eye—

are not left out in the cold.

The Lord gives light

to those who seek him

and clothes the weary

with hope.

Do not be afraid, my friend.

If you trust in Him

more than in your own strength,

you will be surprised.

Silence for meditation.

Reading.

“The Good News can be summed up as follows: the people we live with are neither strangers nor adversaries to us, even though life experience may lead us to believe otherwise. Rather, our relationship with them is where we encounter God if we pay attention to them, accept them with their own characteristics, and allow them to enter our lives. The encounter with them is for us the event in which God 'comes into our lives and communicates with us'.”

(Fr. Pedro Bellego)

Silence for reflection.

Only your fellow human beings will be your star and guide you to Christ. Do you believe this? Do you live it?

Petitions.

- For those who have eyes and do not want to see...

- For those who see the star and do not dare to follow it...

- For those who lose their way or turn back...

- For those who do not recognize Christ in the little ones and the poor...

Our Father.

Prayer.

Increase our faith, Lord, so that it may enlighten and guide our lives. We ask this through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
