June Adoration: The Heart of Jesus

The Heart of Jesus is "Good News" for all. The love of God, made human in Jesus, entered our world as God’s gift to us. It is this reality that illumines all existence. In the Heart of Jesus, we find a warm invitation to enter into an intimate personal relationship with Him. If we find in his Heart the living center of our contemplation and of our attitudes, "Christ will dwell in our hearts, and rooted and grounded in love, we will be able to grasp the breadth and length, the height and depth, until, knowing the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, we are filled with all the fullness of God" (Eph 3:17-19). Then we will be able to make known the inexhaustible riches of God’s love and tenderness.

- O God, come to my assistance.

- Lord, make haste to help me.

- Glory be to the Father...

- As it was in the beginning...

O Heart, victim of love, eternal joy of heaven,

consolation of mortals and their ultimate hope.

Joy of heavenly beings, refuge of humans.

O Sacred Heart, we adore you!

Silence to adore.

Psalm 123.

Our gaze is directed towards the One who has been pierced, towards the wounded Heart of Christ, awaiting his mercy and liberation from our slavery.

To you I raise my eyes, my heart, my hands,

my whole being, my whole life.

Sure of your love, in you I remain.

Where better than in you?

Where better than in you?

Where better protected from the enemy who harasses me?

As the eyes of children are fixed on their father and mother,

so are my eyes fixed on you, Lord,

waiting for love, receiving life,

drawing breath, secure in your mercy.

Mercy, Lord, mercy;

Love, Lord, love,

for I come from nothing.

Embrace me, Lord, and welcome me into your Heart,

that like you, I may be the heir of life,

beloved child of the Father like you.

Silence for meditation.

Reading.

"We are called to make our own the attitudes, words and works that led Jesus to the extreme of having his Heart pierced on the cross. With the same compassion that comes to us from his Heart, we must be sensitive to everyone, sharing the Word of Life, making his love present in the lives of people, encouraging hope". P. Bradley, ss.cc.

Silence for reflection.

How do you embody the love of Christ for those most in need?

Petitions.

- For the Church; that she may proclaim to all peoples the love of God for humankind....

- For all nations; that they may live in justice and be built up in charity....

- For the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts; that it may be faithful to its mission to contemplate, live and announce the love of God incarnate in Jesus....

- For our relatives and friends; that the love of Christ may reign in the hearts of all of them...

-Add your own intentions ...

Our Father.

Prayer.

O God, you have shown us your love in the pierced Heart of your Son: show us your immense goodness. We ask this through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
