Easter Adoration: Christ is risen! He Is Alive!

The risen Jesus places before all of us the choice of joining the new world he has inaugurated, which is the Way of Life and the Future of Life for all. “Jesus has triumphed over death” is the proclamation of each person’s victory over their own death. Jesus, the Living One, has become the Gospel for the world: God saves human life, freeing it from the destruction of death.

To believe in Jesus is to proclaim that his life, given up for love, has attained salvation for the whole human race through the Gift of God.

- O God, come to my aid.

- Lord, make haste to help me.

- Glory be to the Father...

- As it was in the beginning...

When we Sing.

When we sing, we send messages of joy, love, and peace out into the world.

When we sing, we are already sowing the seeds of a kingdom of justice and truth.

We sing to proclaim our faith; we sing to proclaim the truth; we sing for a true world—the one that only Christ can give.

We follow in the footsteps of the Lord, singing of the joy of freedom.

We sing for a true Kingdom, the one that only Christ can give.

Silence for Adoration.

Psalm.

All peoples clap your hands! Acclaim the Victor with shouts of joy.

Let the whole earth raise its songs of joy to

Christ our Passover, the Risen One.

Let all creatures raise their great chorus, united in love and enthusiasm.

Christ is risen!  Christ lives!

Death has been conquered.

All people of the earth, children, youth, adults, and the elderly,

fill the heavens with your songs.

Your liberation has come!

He, the conqueror of his own death and of your deaths,

will wipe away the tears from your eyes.

There will be no more death or mourning, no more crying or pain;

for the former things have passed away.

There will be nothing cursed anymore.

There will be no more night, nor will you need the light of a lamp or the sun.

The Lord reigns clothed in majesty and will be king forever and ever.

Silence for meditation.

Reading.

“We celebrate the Risen Christ in the Eucharist... On our journey through the desert toward a Church that shares with everyone not only the bread of life, but also the goods of the earth.

Let us celebrate the Risen Christ through our love for the Church. It is a love that kindles a fire on earth. The Church has the mission to be a leaven of brotherhood, communion, and sharing for all humanity.

Let us celebrate the risen Christ, our brother, in humanity.

“In humanity we see the very face of Christ, especially when that face becomes more transparent through tears and suffering. That is why we are even willing to give our lives so that humanity may cease to be a victim of humanity.” (Easter 1970. Taizé)

Silence for reflection.

Petitions.

- That the Church may bear witness to the Risen Christ through works of justice, charity, and peace...

- For Christians, that they may responsibly cooperate in the salvation brought to us by Easter...

- For the peoples of the earth, that Jesus’ triumph over death may put an end to hatred and restore peace...

- Add your own intentions….

Our Father.

Prayer.

O God, your love has been stronger than hatred and death. Make us new people through faith in your risen Son. Who live and reign...
