December Adoration: The Lord is Coming

ree

In the midst of a materialistic, unjust, and violent society, how is it possible for man to continue waiting? Empty, without horizons, unable to build a perfect society, people today try to take refuge in the "bubble" of their own private paradise, which does not save them from helplessness and emptiness. We wait for the Lord, the God of promises, the Father who waits for us with open arms. Our hope is Jesus, the one with the pierced heart, the Tent of God for humanity. Our hope is the Spirit of God, who breathes life into our lives, renews our ideals, and blows a wind of freedom throughout creation.

- O God, come to my aid.

- Lord, make haste to help me.

- Glory be to the Father...

- As it was in the beginning...

Come, O Savior. Come without delay,

give us your grace and peace.

Come, O Savior. Come without delay,

give us your strength and truth.

You gave us your word, our hope is firm,

we will follow in your footsteps,

we know you will come.

Come, come, Lord Jesus.

Silence for adoration.

Meditation

The days of the Messiah have come.

Jesus the Christ has come into the world.

The sun of mercy shines.

Anointed by God and defender of peoples,

he will lend his voice to those who have none,

he will hear the cry of the humble, the cry of the helpless,

he will be the hope of those who are already bent over and

the support of the marginalized.

He will be a permanent rainbow,

Sunshine to reflect a shower of freedom.

He will be called the liberator of slavery, the Samaritan of the roads,

the doctor of the world, without borders, the advocate of the poor.

His days will not end, for love lasts longer than energy.

Messiah, Jesus Christ, Justice, Peace, Love, Good News,

Freedom for all, Jesus Christ, God among men.

Salvation knocks at our doors.

Silence for meditation.

Reading.

"After many wars, says a parable, everything was destroyed. Only one man, one woman, and one flower survived. And so, life began again. New cycles of war and destruction returned, but at the end of each cycle, there was always one man, one woman, and one flower left.

Nothing can make hope disappear. There will always be a flower in our lives, in our families, communities, world, and church. Advent is the time when this flower is born. Those who discover it begin to see the world differently, as more beautiful and people as kinder. It is worth working for a better, more just, more fraternal, and more peaceful world."

Silence for reflection.

Petitions.

- That wars may cease and all may live in justice and solidarity. R/ Come, Lord Jesus.

- That we Christians may be a light in the darkness of the world and show the peoples the ways of the Lord. R/ Come, Lord Jesus.

- For all who live in discouragement and despair, that the light of Advent may reach them through one of us. R/ Come, Lord Jesus.

Our Father.

Prayer.

Come, Lord Jesus, and make us witnesses of your saving presence among us. You who live and reign...
